This paper explores the impact of the Internet and other information technologies on different areas of law, including criminal and civil matters. It will also focus on the development of practical knowledge and skills in lectures and assessments.

This is a net paper there is no requirement to attend lectures however the teaching team will be delivering content and be available on Zoom for class interaction Mondays 12-2 (after the first week). Students can participate synchronously or asynchronously. Content may be delivered in a number of ways and there may not be a 'traditional' 2 hour lecture every week.

Workload

Students should expect to spend 150 hours in total on this paper. In addition to lecture attendance, significant time will need to be spent on background and complementary reading and internet based research. Students should allow for periods of more focused research time in the preparation for discussions and assignments. Student will also be required to actively participate and complete online activities.

This is a 15-point 4th year law paper. Therefore considerable commitment in time is required in order to do background reading and research.
